Turn-Based Strategy. Total Command.
Command the battlefield in Ashfall Command, a tactical strategy game where base construction, resource management, missile warfare, ground assaults, and battlefield defense come together.
Build your forces. Study your opponent. Plan your attacks. And adapt as the enemy commander begins adapting to you.
Currently in Development
Ashfall Command is currently in active development at Kahuna Studios.
Built as a modern take on the large-scale tactical strategy games we love, Ashfall Command combines deliberate strategic decision-making with a cinematic 2.5D battlefield where your decisions play out before you.
Construct and defend your base, manage the resources needed to sustain your war effort, launch missile strikes against enemy positions, deploy ground forces behind enemy lines, and defend against incoming attacks.
But winning the battle isn’t just about having the biggest army.
It’s about understanding the battlefield—and your opponent.
Build. Defend. Attack.
Every decision contributes to the larger battle.
Build & Defend
Construct military installations and defensive positions while preparing your base for the enemy’s next attack. Construction takes time, forcing you to decide what you need—and when you need it.
Plan Your Assault
Choose strategic targets and coordinate long-range missile strikes or deploy ground forces directly into enemy territory.
Control the Battlefield
Missiles can be intercepted. Ground forces can encounter defensive positions. Units can be damaged or destroyed. Every attack carries risk.
Manage the War Machine
Balance construction, resources, energy, defenses, and offensive operations while deciding where your next investment will have the greatest impact.
Cinematic Warfare
Watch your orders unfold through dynamic battlefield presentations as missiles streak toward their targets, anti-air defenses respond, dropships deploy troops, and ground forces engage.
An Enemy That Studies You
Ashfall Command’s opponent isn’t intended to simply follow a predetermined sequence of attacks.
The enemy commander is being designed to observe how you play.
Your construction choices, attack patterns, preferred targets, battlefield priorities, and recent behavior can provide clues about what you might do next.
The enemy can use those observations to influence its own strategic decisions.
Rely heavily on one strategy and your opponent may begin preparing for it.
Change your behavior and you may force the enemy to reconsider.
The goal is not to create an opponent that cheats.
The goal is to create an opponent that thinks strategically about what you’re doing.
From Prototype to Battlefield
Ashfall Command is being developed openly, with many of its systems evolving through experimentation and iteration.
The project began with a very different visual direction before evolving into its current 2.5D approach, combining a three-dimensional battlefield with sprite-based military units and structures.
Since then, the prototype has grown to include terrain authoring, base construction, tactical mapping, missile combat, anti-air interception, ground deployments, damage and destruction, resource systems, cinematic attack sequences, and an evolving enemy command system.
Each new system brings Ashfall Command another step closer to the tactical battlefield we originally imagined.
Follow the Development
Ashfall Command is being built in the open.
The Ashfall Command Development Vlog documents the journey—from early prototypes and design decisions to new gameplay systems, experiments, breakthroughs, bugs, and the occasional spectacular failure.
See how individual ideas evolve from a question…
“Wouldn’t it be cool if…?”
…into something running on the battlefield.
